Description
Cadiz, Europe’s oldest city, is a treasure trove of historic sites and streets, seaside promenades and a lively Andalusian atmosphere. On this half-day tour, you will discover its past with a guided walk and admire highlights such as the cathedral, La Caleta beach and the Central Market.
We will start the day trip with a panoramic tour of Cádiz. You will get a real feel for this city on a promontory, almost surrounded by the Atlantic Ocean. You will stroll through grandiose, tree-shaded squares, see the beach and discover the ruins of the largest Roman theatre in Europe. In the Plaza de España you will see the Casa de las Cuatro Torres, the old Customs House and the monument to the Constitution of 1812.
You’ll also admire the baroque cathedral with its golden domes and twin towers. Standing in front of it in the palm-lined square and admiring its two-tone façade is quite a sensation. And you’ll pass the neoclassical Central Market. If you feel like it, you can go in and browse among the stalls and bars. Plus, you’ll have some free time to find your inner compass in this most walkable of cities.
